Matt:

With the exception of The Moki Dugway, all our route is over either US or state highways.  Like Chris mentioned, they're not that bad - just advising those unfamiluar to make sure you look over your equipment as recommended by Wheatthin.  We are not trying to make you nervious about making this trip.  But at the same time, we want to be sure everybody has good information & is prepaired for the just in case.

And for Freshwater & TRITOON, I would advise you also google The Moki Dugway.  With the rigs you guys have I would suggest you not take this short cut.  We can talk more about this later.....
Larry what other route would you suggest. Patty about got sick just watching the video. It is either take another way or drug her like they had to do with B.A.
GOD BLESS

Put blinders on her and tell her time to take a nap. It looks worse than it actually is. It saves a hour driving from the main hwy.

menrats

the other way is through blanding. its not bad.

TRITOON

Thanks LLL that was the only other way I could see but wanted to make sure. I am still trying to talk her into taking a chill pill and enjoying the scenery.

One Last Cast

The only time I went up this grade was in 1978.Yes it is somewaht scary, but the video somewhat is an exagerated view of the drive as I remember it. For instance it appears that the road is very narrow, but if you look at the cars coming at the vehilce doing the filming you will notice that the road is in fact quite wide. I cant remeber if it was entirely wide the whole route but remember I felt very comfortable on my descent with a crew cab truck, with a very large truck camper mounted on it and pulling an 18 ft runabout. On the descent you are driving on the inside lane well away from the drop offs. On the climb I remeber being able to stay away from the edge except when we encounterd an oncoming vehilcle. Since I was climbing slowly, iit was easy to move over and feel comfortable. I would say you should not avoid this rout, it looks scarrier thn it is.

Thanks LLL :3some:  It'll take a little longer, but I found out that if moma ain't happy ain't nobody happy. :bootyshake:

Cop that. My wife was wanting to know if the Merlot Kid had the name of a divorce attorney until I relented so looks like we will be taking the long way also.   Sure sucks to be whipped. :crybaby2:
GOD BLESS

Fish Hawk

If my wife wasn't driving a rig I wouldn't tell her. Let her find out when we got there.  :violent-smiley-007:  than she may have to finish the trip here self

OneBlade

That looked like a totally awesome ride.  I like Apache trail and that looks to put that to shame.   So joking aside - anyone taking that route?
