3/20/13 Bartlett :)

A white crappie has more vertical stripes on it and I don't see any in that picture.  Black crappie looks more solid spots - I wouldn't say more horizontal but more solid and I don't see vertical stripes on a black crappie.  My vote is black crappie but let's see what the rest say.  Also depends on where you fish.  Lake Pleasant has white crappie.  I don't think Bartlett, Roosevelt, etc. have white crappie or if they do, not many.

I'm with you on this. I only recall catching white crappie out of Plez, and maybe the northern trout lakes. Everything has always been a crappie like the large one on the cooler.
