I think thats a matter of opinion, but you will need them to use the full features of the Ipilot link features.

Lakemaster is now owned by Johnson Outdoors which also owns Humminbird & Minn Kota.  Like Dave mentioned above, it's the required mapping chip if you want to utilize such features as Water Level Offset & Depth Highlights on your HBird unit along with Contour Trolling via Ipilot Ilink with your Terrova.

I've had Navionics chips for a long time so, like Dave mentions, we'll see how it looks.  Dave's going to be my test pilot on this...... :greengrin:
