Hit the lake Saturday morning at 830, and fished until 2. We caught 12 nice crappie all near the buoy line staying in 25 to 35 FOW. All caught using bare hook minnows, with a drop shot rig, spider rigged. Hit the lake Sunday morning at 7 and fished until 11. Same pattern, and same setup got us 16 more. Water temps were in the low to mid 60's.

That sounds very similar to my report.  I had my parents who were primarily fishing jigs early on and didn't fare as well as the bare hook vertical setup.  It could have been their depth wasn't as precise, the jig itself, or fishing behind the boat....

Marvin and I did not fair near as well trolling jig heads tipped with a minnows. 4 total was all we could muster. Kudos to all the drop shoters for a nice catch rate and sharing/showing us your set ups after the meeting. We have not made a meeting in quite sometime and it was really good to see some of the crew. Good lord that day trip is hard on an old man. Up at 3:30 home @ 10:00 could not fall asleep until past midnight. Sundays plans changed from projects to sitting/laying on the couch watching football. At least the Cardinals & Seahawks kept me past 11:00 again last night.

Thanks everyone for the reports. Sounds like we missed a great time. Good to know what is working and what is not. Glad that it was a meeting with some fish caught, that is what we are all after.
