Don't forget to get your bottom bouncers.  I buy mine on ebay and feel the price is pretty good. I use this guy:

Be sure and indicate if you want the R loop or twisted loop where your line goes.

The question is how heavy you'll go.....  Best to get a couple sizes and depending on your main line estimate how many you'll go through if you fish 6 1/2 days....

So what weights seem to work out the best?  Marv thinks 2 oz
+.    I'm guessing it matters how deep you fish.  l"d like to hear some different opinions.  In case I forgot to mention it...I'm all in.

I brought both 3oz and 1 1/2oz. If your in the front, u really want to be heavier then the guys in back. This will significantly help with tangles. I used the 3oz 90% of the time and dropped to the 1 1/2 when we spot locked over structure and fished with a naked worm. I'm also a much bigger fan of the drail weight then I was the bottom bouncer. Keep in mind the line you use. If your fishing 20# fireline you'll hug bottom easily, if your fishing 30# mono....you may need 4oz.
When in doubt, set the hook!

Lowest I'd go is 2oz and only if we're going very slow.  Most likely I'm at 2 1/2oz unless we are cruising more than 1mph and I'm up to 3oz.  I use braid.

I used 2 oz 90% of the time. When it was really choppy on the water I switched to a 3 oz. I fish with 65# braid

In the depths that we were trolling, 2 oz. was perfect.
