The July 2024 AZCA Lake Mary Extravaganza, Crawfish Boil and Club Meeting will be held the weekend of Friday, July 19th until Sunday, July 21st with the meeting being held on Saturday, July 20th.  More information on the club meeting location & time along with boil times will be posted very soon

Fish Hawk will be doing his now "world famous" Crawfish Boil on Saturday evening.  You do not want to miss out on this!! If you are a club member, please click this link for information on the boil itself:  http://forum.azcrappie.com/index.php/topic,5111.msg35147/topicseen.html#new

As in past years, we will be camping in the Coconino National Forest near Marshall Lake.  There are many dispersed campsites in the area along with it being very close to Upper Lake Mary.  I have attached a map with directions for reference.  This will be the thread for all your Lake Mary Extravaganza & Crawfish Boil questions, comments & answers.

We will be dry camping in the Coconino National Forest so it's important you understand that there will be NO facilities such as electric, water or toilets!! Please plan accordingly.  I will have some water available to share & a generator to charge boat batteries if needed.

If you would like to camp in a developed campground, here is a Forest Service Link to nearby developed campgrounds: https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/coconino/recarea/?recid=82341  The closest developed campsites are Lake View, Pinegrove & Ashurst/Forked Pine.  Most are first come-first served, all have toilets but there are no electrical hookups in any of these developed camps.

We will be fishing Upper Lake Mary.  The boat ramps, picnic areas & parking lots, including The Narrows, have been designated by the Forest Service as a fee area.  Which means that to launch your boat or use the parking lots - you have to pay a daily fee.  It's around $10 per day or you can buy a weekly pass for $15.  There will be a brand-new kiosk machine at the parking lot entrance that'll be happy to take your credit card.  Certain "America the Beautiful" passes are also accepted. See the following link for more information on pass requirements:  https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/coconino/recarea/?recid=82408

My plan is to head up there after work on the Wednesday morning before to scout out locations for our camp.  After securing a site, I will then post further information & location of this year's camp.  Please check back for more info on that Wednesday evening.

Please make a post if you plan on joining us this year as it'll help me determine what size camp we will need.

Suffering from information overload yet......    :lol_hitting:

Follow up - the July AZCA Club meeting will be held on Saturday, July 20th at 4pm sharp! Location will be at our campsite along road to Marshall Lake, see map in above post.  We will post exact camp location once we get camp established the Wednesday before.

The Crawfish boil will be held right after the Club meeting.  Bring you camp chairs, tables and dish to pass.....

Tommy and Larry setup camp.  Location is on that road headed to Marshall Lake and right after you pass the cattle guard and transition to gravel about 100ft make a right and you'll see them.  I assume Larry has his camper and Tommy has a bright orange tent.  Here's a pin drop: https://maps.apple.com/?ll=35.097851,-111.539047&q=Dropped%20Pin&t=m

Hey everyone. My name is Joshua, I'm from Tucson. I'm very interested in joining the AZ crappie association. If possible, is like to join your next event to become involved as soon as possible. Thanks for any assistance you can offer!

Hey Joshua, welcome! We love to see you up at our event this weekend so if you're up for the drive come on up! We'll have the meeting Saturday around 4ish at camp, but most of us will be up there by today.  If this weekend doesn't work, we typically have meetings at Arizona desert lakes (Lake Pleasant, Bartlett Lake, Roosevelt, Alamo) starting up in September and maybe we can see you at one of those.  Our big fall event Bob Hirsch Crappie Classic is Oct 5, 2024 and that along with our Spring Crappie Fest (April) will have the highest turnout.  You can read about our last Spring Crappie Fest event here: http://forum.azcrappie.com/index.php/page,scf2024.html

The Arizona Crappie Association's 2024 Lake Mary Extravaganza, Crawfish Boil, and Club Meeting is in the books.  Several members caught walleye, pike, and the occasional clam shell.  Along with the fishing, AZCA member FishHawk ran the crawfish boil at camp.  We held our club meeting and are looking forward to September when the LTF and NCL tournaments resume, and the AZCA's Bob Hirsch Crappie Classic in October occurs at Roosevelt Lake Oct 5th.  Be sure and like/follow the Arizona Crappie Association Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/arizonacrappie) and Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/azcrappie/), as well as check the azcrappie.com website for any updates.
