We fished today until 11 a.m. and only caught 1 crappie on the Tonto end. For some reason they appear to be buried down in the brush. Also, I'm not sure if I'm seeing crappie or gizzard shad?! ......Art

Been wondering the same thing for a little while now!  A whole lot of fish activity down there w/ nothing to show for it.  Given the size of the one Gizzard Shad we saw, it'll be easy to think your seeing Crappie on your finder only to have it be Gizzard Shad.

Maybe we become the AZGSA, e.g. Arizona Gizzard Shad Association?  If there are so many of these shad, why hasn't anyone caught one?

They don't take to a lure or even minnows very easily. I've heard of a couuple caught long line trolling down in the Tonto last winter but that's it........Art
