Post by: Fish Hawk on July 25, 2014, 01:40 PM
A guy from work went out last weekend with a couple other guys and caught 28 crappie around 1-1.5 pounds each. they fished yellow cliffs straight line with minnows. just thought I would share.

its seems bart is the only healthy crappie fishery in the state.

should we consider a catch and release policy for a while?

I really wonder how stable the crappie population in Bartlett really is?

Just my opinion---If I am correct in my determination that the fish I am graphing are indeed Crappie, I believe Bartlett to be in great shape for an abundance of fish. Given the amount of Baitfish, the stability of the water level, cover etc, the years ahead will yield great numbers----as far as a catch and release policy, there are problems---first is "catchin"--second, if the Az Crappie Association would volunteer such a policy, our numbers are insignificant and impact zero +/- zero----- ;D
