Title: Certified scale?

What's the deal with getting a fish weighed by a certified scale?

I use to think you had to find a game and fish location with such scale but talking with a few club members they said you can just go to a supermarket or any store that sells meats/cheeses and has a digital scale and measure it that way.  Now I'm not sure what you need to get besides the sticker showing the weight but a picture of that fish on the scale with weight might be good.  Account for the tare too.   Maybe a few others will chime in.

many of the marinas at different lakes have g and f certified scales on site to weigh fish, don't know if there is a list of lakes on the g and f website or not :dontknow:
