Well after much contemplation, we are going to head up to Alamo on Wednesday and see what this last round of storms has done. Our first time out since early May so it is long over due. We will be in FH15 if anyone gets up that way. Hope to have a good report when we get back.
Good luck up there. Ironically, I sent you a PM a few minutes ago asking about your summer fishing :dontknow:

Never did get the PM, but I guess I answered that anyway. So now we hope to make up for it all and have a great outing. At least get a few pulls on the rod, anything will be great at this time. Glad summer is over, was not a good one.
Hope to see you on the water.
all that rain this wee :crybaby2:and alamo did not come up at all

Hope that means the ratio of fish per cubic foot of water is more in favor of fisherman :D

be glad your not at Alamo this morning, they are getting hammered with a big storm and a line of slow moving showers are coming up from the south that (water level may change by later today :dontknow:) might ck weather tomorrow for storms better chances for storms tomorrow, Stu K. from g and f said he was surprised how busy the lake was last week during the day and then again at night for it being so warm, they were doing netting and shocking on the lake.

Looks like they are really getting it hard up there, may have to rethink this thing. It will take a while to recover if the water gets messed up real bad. I knew I shouldn't have said anything, it looked good starting tomorrow until I spoke up. Go figure :angry4:

Thanks, it isn't looking so good at this point in time but who knows. Hopefully this all gets settled down and things are hopping for next months meeting. See you there.
I'm thinking I'm still going to give it a try on Thursday, just for a day trip.
Unless things really get much worse.
Tritoon, sorry to see that this might put a damper on your plans, hopefully it will still work out for you, if so, I'll see you there.

I did chicken out, and changed my reservation to Monday. I will be there all next week until Friday, unless it is fantastic then I will hang in for a while.
You go get em, hope you show me to be a coward and do well.
If the lake gets muddy fishing will be pretty tough.

Yep...just have to go see :-[
I'll post my finding from the lake if I can with the cell phone!
Interesting link I found for Alamo Lake. Flow rates for Sandy River and Santa Maria.
Maybe someone who know more than me can interpret, quite a lot of water in around 2PM but it is already receding.
That link didn't go anywhere, should have checked it better. Sorry, will repost with a new link.
I was unable to open the link, but it should be very informative for the area. The best info will be eyewitness. I hope you find it beautiful and full of hungry fish.

This works, shows flow in the rivers and lake level in real time.

Now that one works for me. That is pretty cool. It shows the Bill Williams River has come up about two feet since yesterday, that is comparing the readings from yesterday. Great info. Thanks for posting it.
looks like lake came up about 8+" yesterday, the problem with the river flows in the Sana Maria and Big Sandy is that area is real sandy etc. there will be big flows in both rivers and burro creek for a day or so and the water never reaches the lake it takes high flows for several days for the water to reach alamo.
I think delaying till Monday will be a good move they are talking more rain today state wide.

[/quote]It hurts to wait but the boss feels better about it so that makes me feel better too.
I will just have to let azbowhunter do a scouting mission for me. Sure hope he makes me look like a wimp.
Tritoon.....your plan to wait till Monday is probably wise but I will be leaving town next week for a couple weeks so I am going to give it a try and I'll let you know how it goes.
As of 10AM Alamo has risen 8" since pre-storm elevation, Santa Marian is down to 1' and Big Sandy is only about 6" higher than it was before the storm.
What all that means is yet to be determined but I'll find out tomorrow and share it here ::)
You are my scout. Good luck and be safe

Had a fun day at Alamo, no debris, pretty clear water with only some stain color, no mud, about 4 other boats, no wind, about 80 degrees peak and 15 slabs. What more could a guy ask for ;D ;D ;D
Fished south of bouy line, mostly towards west side concentrating on 35' while fishing down 15' to 20' w/ jigs tipped with minnows. Didn't find our first fish till nearly 10 and things really slowed down by noon but not bad for the first trip this fall.
You guys should have great fishing for your next meeting at Alamo!!!
Lake has been producing well this year, thanks for the report.
Nice job Dick. Sure makes me anxious to get up there. Now go get some venison to go with it.
Called Alamo today, very little water made it to the lake 😩
:blob1:Well it looks like it is really going to happen, we are loaded up and heading out at 4am. Hope to be set up and fishing by 11 then cleaning 30 by 3. :o
