New to this forum, pleased to have found it and greeting.
I spent years in the Midwest crappie fishing with a bass boat. Now at 70 plus years old I am starting to use a kayak and don't relish the idea of going on big water in a low profile, hard to see, kayak. Does anyone here know of crappie lakes or ponds (for that matter any small lakes or ponds with fish) in the Phoenix area or in the White Mountains area where I can fish from a kayak. I spend the winters in the Phoenix metro (Buckeye) and summers in the mountains. I am aware of Show Low Lake and Fool Hollow Lake in the mountains which both have crappie and of course the other small lakes up there. I'd appreciate any input and thanks in advance.
Fishless - any suggestions?
I don't think Show Low lake has crappie? but Fools Hollow does with some habitat placed in the lake some years ago. If you were in Flagstaff just about every lake in the Williams area has crappie but they tend to be small, upper lake Mary has crappie and at times they get to good size. Willow Spring lake has limited number of crappie and have caught some decent size. The Green Valley park lake in Payson has lots of crappie but again they tend to be small. I don't know of any reservation lakes up there have have crappie?
Thanks Fishless. I appreciate the suggestions. I'll keep them in mind come spring.
