Fished Bartlett yesterday. Launched at Yellow Cliff ramp right at safe light. Found and caught crappie at every stop. Most fish in 22-35 FOW and holding above structure (Trees, Rocks, Game and Fish Structure). Would catch 1 or 2, then need to change jig color, size, action to get them to eat again. Water clarity was good and no floating debris, however everything above the no wake river section had a greenish alge bloom going on (but still found and caught crappie there).

They didn't reach the top 25 but did catch crappie, big blue cats, and other fish. They entered the big fish derby for those who aren't in the top 25 and doing that today.  Randy said the white crappie have some big shoulders on them and that river system crappie fight hard so you think you've got a 2+lb white crappie on there but it ends up smaller - they are fighters.  Hoping they catch the big one today.  Links for results and standings and so forth on the Facebook link provided in the original post.

The Arizona Crappie Association is excited to have a few of its members represent Arizona on the national scale for crappie fishing! AZCA members Randy Howton, Brian Bernard, and Tim Mraz along with JT Butler are competing October 23-25 in the Midwest Crappie Alliance (MCA) Pickwick Shoot-out in Tennessee. In this 3-day event, they are competing for $50,000 (based on a 150 boat field) in prize money! They got up there late last week and started prefishing last weekend. It's a huge lake so they have a lot of water to break down prior to the tournament. As you can see by the pictures, they have found some crappie already. Also representing Arizona at the Expo is Richard Johnson, owner of Get Out and Fish LLC, of which crappie fishermen nationwide buy their crappie soft plastic baits from. Follow the tournament progress via the MCA Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/midwestcrappiealliance) and website (https://midwestcrappiealliance.com/).
