Obviously by the subject line this is not a fishing report. Was wondering if anybody is going to Alamo the first Saturday in October. Marvin and I are planning to do a day turn around trip to catch and corral enough big crappie to take the derby this year. Crappie will be staged in several different pens across the lake but no gps coordinates will be provided. The pre-fish fish are for us and us only. Stop by and say hell-o if you venture out.

I'm gonna have to check the rule books, but rumor has it we made fish pens illegal for all tourneys.  :P

I called the store yesterday. Was told both ramps are open and have docks. They currently have minnows. When asked about any fishing reports was told night fishermen were catching 25-30 crappie per night up by the dam. That was two weeks ago and no other report was available.

due to motor problems we were unable to make it to the lake. Part was not in stock so had to order. Hopefully it will be in by Tuesday or Wednesday and can get it installed in time to join the group this weekend

Keep in mind....I've had 16 pound bags off of Alamo with only a trolling motor. Don't let lack of the big motor keep you from Fishing with us.
When in doubt, set the hook!
