AZ Crappie Fishing Report

The following report was provided by AZ Crappie Sniper Guide Service. If you're interested in a guided trip for crappie contact Randy Howton at 623-640-9193 and randyhowton@yahoo.com.  Randy's guide service was just mentioned in Crappie NOW, the biggest online crappie magazine publication in the US.

Alamo Lake

Crappie fishing is still on fire by fishing with jigs for suspended fish. You should be able fish the banks soon as the spawn is just around the corner.

Bartlett Lake

The crappie are moving in shallower so people should look to fish in 10-20ft of water.  The schools are always moving more in the morning and seem to slow down in the afternoon and early evenings. Try fishing those schools with a slip bobber set to various depths of 5-10ft using a minnow on an Aberdene hook weighted with a small split shot. If that doesn't work, jigs can also work so don't be afraid to try different presentations.

Lake Pleasant

The white crappie are already starting to spawn in bushes 5-10ft of water.  The black crappie are still suspended in 20-30ft of water but should be moving in within the next few weeks.

Roosevelt Lake

The crappie are moving up so look in trees in 20ft of water. Try fishing with a slip bobber set to various depths of 5-10ft using a minnow on an Aberdene hook weighted with a small split shot.

Other/Urban Lakes
