Bartlett / Father's Day Bartlett trip 202...
Last post by FishMan - June 17, 2025, 08:07 AM
Took my son to Bartlett this past Sunday, June 25, 2025. Launched main ramp around 6am, as yellow cliffs still closed. Fished all the normal up-lake areas with life everywhere. Had to filter through many trees with just Bass and Gills until we found the crappie. No giant Flatheads this trip. Back at the ramp by noon. Good #'s of everything, but nothing huge. All caught on Jiggs.

All Other Lakes / June 7th Lake Mary Flagstaff
Last post by FishMan - June 08, 2025, 06:05 PM
Fished day 2 at Lake Mary, way more traffic on Saturday vs Friday, but most of that was kayaks, paddle board, swimmers, and those just seeking fun. The ramp was a Zoo, but not from boater, from people just having fun. Very few actual boaters as the sketchyness of the ramp is real, and likely scaring people away. My prop has a new flesh wound, but it will live. Learned from day 1, landed 10+ pike, one solid Walleye in 2 foot of water, and about 15 crappie, again caught 1, 2, 3 year old fish. Lots of fish in open water, we didn't do it but wouldn't be surprised if old school long line trolling of roadrunners would have done well. While targeting the crappie, it was fun to watch the pike cruise in and then get to catch them. I've used wire leader here my whole life, and this weekend caught about 8 pike on a 1/32 jig head with 2 inches of nightcrawler and 12# fluro, so there goes that theory.  Main lake 70 degrees at the end of the day, and one of the large females was squirting eggs when in the boat.   It was a great weekend, perfect temps, zero rain, no wind.

Fished lake Mary today in Flagstaff  with goal for a 40 inch Pike. Ramp is sketchy, so don't drive all the way here if you're not willing to be risky. Paved section is well out of the water. Caught 20 or so Pike, one nice Walleye, and at least 10 or more crappie. Ranging in sizes from 8 inches to 2+ pound Tanks. All fish safely released and based on how low the water is I hope you do the same.

Fished Bartlett this morning with Scott Wizard, and was all excited to fish next to Stevert....but only got like 60'seconds of quality time with him. Sad. Launched at 5:45am, main ramp as Yellow Cliff still closed. Headed up to Yellow Cliff area to fish the old orang trees before the traffic got bad. Stayed there until 10am once the wake boats started rolling in. The fish were munching good, missed many bites, boated many others. At 10am headed up river past the no wake bouys, life everywhere. Caught crappie suspended single fish and fish tight in trees. Had cats, bass, gills, and lots of crappie. Had a giant Flathead that just laughed at me and made me cry. No big crappie today, all were under 12 inches...but well over 20 were boated.
