Title: Canyon Lake?
Post by: AZfisherdude on March 10, 2012, 11:40 AM
So I have heard that Canyon has crappie in it. I was thinking about taking my daughter there on Monday. That lake should be less busy than others and is close enough that if she gets "pooped" out to fast we can head home. I was planning on getting some worrms and letting her try for bluegill while I throw around for bass but if there is someplace that might produce some crappie I'd rather try that. Any thoughts on where to start looking for them on that lake? Someplace up river?
Thanks for any suggestions.

Sag and Canyon both have Crappie in them but I wouldn't call them "Crappie Lakes". I have caught a few in Canyon and have heard of guys catching good one's back in Boulder. Try around the marina docks and over by Laguna.

Thanks Bill, I know they aren't known for it but figured it would be cool to get lucky. Just never had a clue as to where to even look for them. We decided not to go today but I might go on Wed instead. I appreciate the advice.
