Had a great day on the water today with Willie, I finally sat in the hot seat and schooled him today :sign0081: got to Cat bay around 0730 and worked the trees. Picked up three before Willie had his rigs in the water and then the bite ended around 0800. So we started trolling around and found fish out in deeper water, 32-40 feet. I picked up a toad around 0900 and the we started picking up a few more. 6 fish were 2lbs or better, big fish was 2.6. Ended up with 15 keepers, threw back one 11" fish :dink: (pretty puny next to them toads) Saw many fish by the yellow cliffs but could not get them to bite. Bite died at 1130 or so, kept looking till 2 then called it a day. All big fish were down deep 32-40'. Gergeous day on the water. I'll send some pics to Larry to c if he can post. I still don't know how to post pics. :pics:
wow... nice fish guys
Just when we thought the Bartlett bite was over. Way to stick it out and get into them. Please let me know how you get into that hot seat because I just never seem to be able to do it. Good job Brian. Willie, even the best have an off day, or were you just letting Brian feel good.
Good job guys!

Great fish, I'm very envious. We didn't catch a crappie today but to a drop-shot bass rod along and caught 5 bass in about an hour......Art
I was surprised at the amount of eggs in her so far from the spawn.
The ones that I cleaned awhile back had about the same amount. What was in their bellies?????
typical bartlett as soon as they start to drop the lake fast the crappie move out into deeper water and the casting bite fades till things stabilize that's when I see the trollers and drifters doing well out in the channel and I switch to chasing ducks and winter spooning of stripers
They were spitting out 1-2" shad, looked pretty fresh.
WTG toadslayer.... were you guys spiderriggin'? :notworthy: Thanks for da BD wish.
Spider rigging is the only way to fly for the lazy fisherman, kick back in some comfy chairs, turn up the sat radio, play with the remote all day on the trolling motor & soak up some rays. Life is good, there should be a jimmy buffet song playing as you read this. :lol_hitting:
