Title: Bart 5/8/13
Post by: ArZFisher on May 08, 2013, 08:06 PM
So got out to lake late around 8:30 am. No slabs caught bunch of blues and one dink bass. So we went to dock around 3. Went over to trash cans to dump trash. I had to take piss so walked behind trash looked down their are three crappie just laying out in the rocks. All of them are pretty good size. I can't believe someone would catch some slabs then just throw them on the bank. All they had to do was throw them back in lake. Some people really piss me off

I notice that you reference "blues" often. Are you talking about channel cats?

When I say blues I am referring to sunfish. I don't know why we call them blue gills? Probably since we were kids that's what we're were told. Most of the sunfish here are a Green sunfish and redear sunfish. Blues are just easier to say.

Cool, I was wondering. Yeah, we always call them bluegill also even though we know most aren't.

I like the term "gills", seems to cover all the bases, u should seen the size of them on Powell. They were everywhere.

I would have fished for them!  If they are of size they are a BLAST to catch.

They were jumping on bare hooks left hanging over the side of the boat.

Them blues are always fun to catch. They cut and dart so much sometimes you think you got a big one and its a dink. I have had best luck with a 1/32 jig tipped with meal worm. Gets em every time.
