Fished for 5 hours but no crappie. Didn't see any caught and the people I talked to had very little success as well. 2 was the most anyone had caught. Beautiful day on the water though.
Marvin and I fished Bartlett Saturday 02/08 left the lake with 6 nice crappie fishing the no wake buoys with slip bobbers and trolling (only picked up one trolling) On the water at 7:00ish and off at 1:00 or so. Really slow but should of boated two more A few were longer than 16" (length of my cutting board) and very fat no scale but am guessing in the 2 lb. range. Saw one other guy doing just ok he had 5 on slip bobbers as well.
:sign0144: I finally got the boat on the water Sun. 2/9 , from 10 am to 4 pm we started trolling at the buoy line and picked up 4 fish in less then 30 min. all between 1 lb. & 1.75 lb. the water temp. read 53 degrees . We went up river past the Island picking up 2 small bass. turned back down stream and picked up 2 more smaller fish (.75 lb. ) just below the buoy line in front of the cove . We were trolling between .8 mph. & 1 mph. with 6 lb. line, 1/8 oz. orange jig heads and 3" Yamamoto chart. & pepper grubs , we tried other colors but that is the only thing they would take. We took all the fish in 24 ft. to 30 ft. of water , running our jigs about 12 ft. deep. I mostly have fished Rosey for the last 20 yrs. but it seems that the winter bite there is gone :crybaby2: . Hoping to get back out there again next weekend , as the weather was perfect.
