Title: Bartlett
Post by: Rocko on March 12, 2014, 07:16 PM
I fished Bartlett the last two days with my old man.  We landed 14 keepers trolling back by the island.  Lot's of crappie fisherman using bobbers.  There must have been 2 dozen fisherman out there this morning hunting crappie.  I wonder what the weekend is going to be like.  Everytime we hooked up trolling people would come park behind us and anchor.  It seemed to be a slow bite in the morning, but very little action if any in the afternoon.  Water temp got up to 62 and fish seemed on the move.  I think they will really be on the move when all of that water is about to hit them.  Hoping to make it to the SCF again this year...We had fun doing it last year.

Appreciate the post, heading to Roosevelt this weekend and then to Bartlett Monday thru Thursday. This will be the first time I've fished Bartlett and I keep hearing about the island. Where might that be, if you don't mind me asking?

T L --The Island is a few clicks North of the "No Wake" Buoys, located in the far North portion of the lake----Close to Ship Rock

You cant miss the Island, it's where all the boats are going to be N. of the upstream No wake buoys.  I heard they are about to dump what ever water that is in Horshoe into Bartlett, that may change the fishing situation a bit.  No the water is not cleared up, but it's warming up.

I will be out there again this weekend.  Will be fishing Saturday into Saturday night.  Hopefully there aren't so many people that I can get some trolling done.  If not I will resort to the night fishing with a case of soda.  Will post results on Sunday or Monday.

The island is just out of view, you won't have any trouble finding it!

It was exactly like that up around the island.  Day fishing was miserable.  due to traffic and the amount of people out there.  I tried almost everything imaginable.  The heavy winds coming though on Saturday night didn't help matters.
