Title: Free Maxxum trolling motor
Post by: craigm on November 02, 2014, 09:52 AM
I am not sure if this is the right place on the site to do this but .... I replaced a trolling motor on my buddies boat yesterday the old one a 2006 --2008  (looks like New) 12volt ,  55lb maxxum 42 inch bow mount is now available for free, the catch is it only runs on high speed someone who is handy can perhaps revive it. If any one is interested pm me any club member or site visitor can have it must pickup in Sun City . If this should be in the wanted section please move it. Thanks

That's great Craig!

I had the same problem before and a new board solved it. Martin Marina in Mesa is the place to go for the parts. Or take it there and let Ernie fix it. He's an expert on Minkotas.

Jones Trolling Motor Service is one option for online parts.  The other online place which I've used is Northland Marine - use the motor's s/n and year of manufacture for parts and wiring diagrams.  Sounds like it's possibly the 5-speed switch in the foot control.
