Hey Wally G, O from Wi, CraigM, maybe menrats or..........
Does anybody have any knowledge of the Cisco Chain of Lakes along the Wisconsin Michigan boarder? It's looking like I'll be planning a road trip there in late June and am searching for some first hand intel. Looking for lakeside lodging and boat rental info (thinking it won't be practical to tow my rig from AZ :dontknow: ) if anybody has some to share...... Thx

This show is always fishing up in that area, especially Vilas County. http://www.gillespiefishing.com/ (http://www.gillespiefishing.com/) His show is really good if you can get past his goofiness.
I have not fished that area , but try outdoorsfirst.com the walleyefirst.com section has lottsa folks from that are , also inquire on walleyecentral.com. keep in mind that I live on Lake Mille lacs all summer with many side trips to Lake of the woods , and devils lake so if you are driving give me a call perhaps you can swing back through Minnesota and can get you on some fish if you did you would not need a boat we have several
Never been there,, sorry. If I really need some walleyes I go to MN. I catch more legal size fish in one day there than I catch in WI all year,,,, maybe 2! My brother lives in Hayward WI and he goes to MN for his fish too. Not sure why,,, but in WI they quit growing at 14.5 inches! Been that way for 10 years.
Thanks for the info guys! I've already posted on Walleyecentral. Thanks for the other links.
Have boat in hayward!!!We can fish MY lakes.

I was born and raised around Trego, wi. Trego is about 30 minutes west of Hayward at the junction of highway 53 and 63. I have caught tons of keeper fish all around that area. Tons of keepers in all species too. due to the history and enthusiasm for musky around the Hayward area walleye will never be a predominate species. But there are some extremely legit fishing lakes, crappie lakes too. My family usually started fishing for walleyes and if they weren't biting we would switch to crappie and northern. Northern line in the middle of the lake crappie lines on the other side of the boat. Was up at the old house for almost two weeks in August. Weather was awful and fishing was not great. So in other words. Very few walleye. And a ton of crappie and northern. Try to see if I can upload some pics in near future. If anyone wants more detail on any of the lakes from that area let me know. I have fished almost all of them over the years.
