So after a few calls with just getting voice mail I finally talked to the receptionist last Monday. Said Jeremy (who help Brian make reservations last year) was in the office but in a meeting with the boss. Left my information & what we needed with her to have him call me back. No returned call so I tried calling a few times on Friday with just voice mail. Didn't leave a message.
I might need some help trying to get our Family Units reserved given my work schedule. They're woking off season hours and unsure of their schedule. Don't think we should bombard them with calls but maybe a few calling would help?
Here's what Brian set up last year: "So the deal is someone needs to reserve a cabin in their name for $125 per night, can cancel anytime up to 24 hrs prior without penalty. Contact either john Motley or Jeremy Russell to secure your cabin. 435-684-3032"
Hey Wadefisherman - Brian, how much of a pain was it to get this deal & contacting them last year?
It was hit and miss, they usually called back...eventually. :banghead:
Ok guys, I finally was able to talk to Aramark about our lodging at Hall's Crossing.......
Here's the deal - I have reserved 4 ea Family Units for Saturday, May 2nd arrival with Saturday, May 9th being the departure date. Rate is the same as last year of $125 per night per Family Unit. With tax & all the other BS it comes out to $152.43 per night per Family Unit.
Description of the Family Units: http://www.lakepowell.com/accomodations/family-accommodations.aspx
Your Halls Crossing Family Unit features almost 1,000 square feet of living space, including three bedrooms (with two queen beds and one double bed), two full bathrooms (with tub/shower), and a kitchen that comes complete with stove, oven, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, and enough dishes and utensils to serve eight. Outside, you'll enjoy a deck with a table and four chairs—and easy access to the launch ramp, marina, and convenience store.
Three bedrooms, with two queen beds and one double bed.
Two bathrooms with combination tub/shower.
Sleeps seven (maximum occupancy eight).
Fully-equipped kitchen with dishes and utensils for eight people.
Microwave, linens, television, VHS/DVD player.
Picnic table and charcoal grill.
Air conditioning and heating.
Pets are allowed, but units will not be serviced if pets are left unattended.
As stated above, there are 3 bedrooms - one of which is what I call the "honeymoon suite" as it is in the front of the unit (which is a single wide mobile home) and has its own private queen bed & full bathroom. This suite is perfect for a husband/wife or boyfriend/girlfriend combo. There is a second full bathroom shared by the other two bedrooms and a full kitchen.
What I need now is commitment from you guys and to start filling bedrooms to see if we actually need all 4 Family Units. Once this has begun, we'll assign one person from each Family Unit to call & put a one night deposit down on that unit. There's no good way to do this but one suggestion I do have is assign Family Unit(s) by boat?? :dontknow: That helps a bit when it comes to assigning meals, I think.....
Who's in - Who wants to go but needs a backseat - Please speak up! This list is from the other thread but please update your status:
The "Hell Yeah I'm Freak'n Going" List:
Cousinlll - boater
Fish Hawk - w/ LLL
Sparkchaser - boater
OneBlade - boater
FishMan - w/ sparkchaser
Freshwater x2? - boater - with the Merlot Kid or a friend?
on the rocks & Marvin - w/ boat??

The "Maybe" or "Guys We Need Confirmation From" List:

Wally G - You mentioned this at the last meeting - You In?
I am 100% in. Back seat and great full to ride with Sparkchaser. I would like my own room if available. Trying hard to get a confirmation from a good friend, but unable to get a deposit worthy commitment at this time.
I'm in - I just hope my fellow friend menrats in in for the haul..... My coworker I wouldn't bet money on him going.
:dontknow:
Consider Marvin and I 100% committed :blob1:
Soon to be new members & Lake Powell Walleye gurus Mike & Debbie are in for our trip once again this year! That'll fill up one Family Unit's "Honeymoon Suite" so now looking for another couple or two to fill up the other ones.
I'm thinking Mr. & Mrs. Sandman would enjoy this trip so I'll nominate them for taking another "Honeymoon Suite"........
Above list updated as people commit to the trip.....
Jerry - I'm assuming you are NOT dragging your camper (just your boat) down this year & want to bunk in a Family Unit? If so, is the Merlot Kid joining you or....??

Let me try to talk her into it.

Nice - tell her that I'll bring the spice cake & Limoncello.......... all to her own if that helps!
Cuz I'm waiting on response from friend to confirm he's going as I sent him all the info today. If not The Melot Kid will come. I'm not bring trailer. Every body I asked declined to this point :dontknow: will get back to you pronto as I told him need to know
Woo-hoo! The boss agreed. No problem with taking Jazz and Daisy, is there?
Wow, it's becoming a party again! Getting excited!
I have a 100% confirmation from my friend Walley. Goes by "The Big Wall" if we want to keep the nick name thing going. Good multi species guy, both fresh and salt water. Sparkchaser already approved him as the 3rd in the Alumacraft and for the ride up/down. He's also in for a room of his own.
Fish man where is you walley friend from? I have a friend with the same nickname, big guy, but he lives out in California.
Quote from: sandman on February 17, 2015, 07:00 PMWoo-hoo! The boss agreed. No problem with taking Jazz and Daisy, is there?
Outstanding!! You guys will have the "Honeymoon Suite" in the second family unit. Remind me to bring the spice cake & limoncello for the boss.
As for the pups, pets are allowed and per the contract they sent me they charge $10 per pet per day. Now I know Tom has had his rats there so I don't foresee any problems. Don't know how strict they are or will be with the $10 charge. What they don't know......
I'll pass on the shared room, but thanks for the thoughtfulness. He lives out here on Arowhead Lakes.
Anybody else interested in this trip please speak up?? We can get an additional Family Unit if need be. Tommy Rats - what's your status? Matt - still have an open backseat?
This is who's going so far. And I randonly added names to the trailers for planning purposes only..........
Trailer #1

Fish Hawk

Trailer #2

All right Tom menrats, give us the scoop. This is the trip you don't want to miss. We work great as a team - you can handle my occasional too sharp of a turn trolling without too many complaints and I think we can agree there is no issue with music played on the way up. Now I don't want to sound like I'm courting you but what's holding you back? let's make it work. Also, is there an issue leaving on that Saturday?
I don't want yall making plans for me. im sorry but its only about 1 in 4 that im gunna make it. its going to be a last minute decision for me and I guess ill be camping if I get there at all. maybe I can bust out tues pm.
as to the rats I believe they were so good they were invisible to management.
ive got a family trip to Negril first week of june where I get to wear dreds and be the rastamon for a week on a seven mile white sand beach and nothing to do but hang on the beach. but to take off for the march trip the scf the powell and the beach leave too little time to bring in the resources to do it all. and regretfully powell is the least of the priorities this year. love to join you bro one blade and I hate to leave u hangin but im just not sure I can pull this off. finally im presiding over my bestest buddys wedding on that sat so wouldnt leave till sunday anyway. my plan is to see how the weather is and see how the bank is and then maybe boogy tues night or wednesday night till sunday.
So who's going to take Matt's backseat & fill that open bedroom??
I'm thinking we need to volunteer WallyG or maybe Halibut Warrior or Whaler or.................. :headbang: :dontknow:
I'm waiting on Timbo. He pm'd me but that he would backseat if I needed, but I haven't heard back :dontknow:
I'll Go!!!!!!!!!
Jerry call me 480-734-5444

Bump!
All right, I messaged those 3 guys. What about Piscolli? He's silent on this trip - maybe we convince him to go this year.... even for half if the duration is an issue.
If anyone is considering going but the trip length or cost scares them, please message or call me (480-474-7955). It appears as though menrats may not make it at all or may be 2nd half of trip last minute decision. If all else fails, that may be my trip as well, however opportunity is open for newbies who want to try out this awesome fishing experience.
Jerry
I'll call you Monday.
Timbo
Matt I have room for you if you don't mind three on the pontoon, which really has enough room. Enjoy your company and walleye expertise. The three of us could use one mobile setup. :3some:

What side of town do you live on? I need to dust off the old gear and figure out what I need to purchase or make.
I'd first say read this thread (I just added to it):

I can also take picture and text you what I use but I must admit I don't have the experience with some of the slow death setups some use and the jigging stuff I think others used. But those 2 links above will get you more information than you can handle.
When do you think we should reserve the trailers? As long as they give us a good cancellation policy (e.g. 48 hours) then no risk but need to make sure to get it in writing. If we have that, I don't mind reserving in the next few weeks.
There are 4 family units already "reserved" and we just need to put the deposits down. That'll involve one person from each family unit to put the one nights deposit down.
What we still need to do is assign trailers. In conversation with Kelley at the last meeting, it looks like it'll be them plus Fish Hawk & myself in one unit. Then Dave, Tommy & his friend will take another unit. There's Debbie & Mike in the honeymoon suite in the third unit with two bedrooms still to fill. Unit #4 will need to be decided upon still.
So we have OneBlade, Freshwater, Timbo, MNMAN, On the Rocks & Marvin to accommodate.
Matt, would mind taking the lead on one unit and put the deposit down? I'll post all the info you need to do that shortly. Also, would it be possible to get 4 guys in one unit with On the Rocks & Marvin taking the beds in Debbie & Mike's unit??
Thoughts from the group.........??
I'll cover the deposit on our trailer. Just let me know when.
Guys, It really does not matter where or whom Marvin and I bunk in with. I also can put the deposit down for the unit Marvin and I stay in. Put us where need be and let me know if you want me to make the deposit. Just a heads up from deer camp experience both of us snore like there is no tomorrow.
I don't mind putting the deposit down for a trailer. However, I'd like to make sure of their cancellation policy, e.g. 48 hours advance no charge? This is just in case.... I'm messaging MNMan and Timbo to confirm their attendance on this trip and we can go from there and assign rest of trailers.

Ok Matt, please let us know what you find out.

Sandman, On the Rocks, Sparkchaser or Tommy & OneBlade have volunteered to put a one nights deposit on their respective family units. As mentioned earlier, the base rate for one night is $125 but with taxes & the freakin fees it comes to $152.43. Just like previous years, your credit card will be charged when making your deposit. Here's what you'll need to do:
Call Aramark/Lake Powell Resorts - Phoenix Groups Department at 1-800-341-8934. Please reference "Group Number 14S3WR" and our group name is "AZ Crop Association". Their hours are M-F 7am to 5pm. Christy Pieroni is the person I dealt with but anybody in the Groups Department should be able to help. Be sure to confirm the dates with them: Arriving Saturday, May 2nd and departing Saturday, May 9th. That'll be a 7 night stay. Reservations have already been made and your just calling to put a deposit down. Any questions or problems please contact me as soon as possible. Thanks everybody!!
Please post after making your deposits.

Yes, Larry, please start that meal thread and I can continue it and help plan that. I have a message out to freshwater Jerry to confirm he's good with shacking up with Timbo and I and then I'll call to reserve that trailer. MNMAN gave me a call and some issues may prevent his attendance regardless he can't confirm at this time.
Thanks Matt. I'll start that over the weekend.
I'm in Matt I haven,t heard from Timbo either. Put me down on the mobile and what ever nitecrawlers you think we'll need and let me know what to bring for the meal. :3some:
Done! Trailer reserved for Freshwater, Timbo, and OneBlade (walleye blade this time of year :-).
And as FishHawk does indeed say.... OHHHH YEAHHHHH

So upon your arrival at Hall's Crossing, your trailer number assignments will be posted on the little store (store is by the gas pumps) window. Look on this list for the name of who put the deposit down on your trailer. Trailers will be unlocked & key should be on the kitchen counter top.
Not sure what to do for the lodging? Do we need to make a deposit to someone...or just show up to pay somebody when we get there? Just let us know who and where and we'll bring $$$$ :dontknow:
Ok got it...Trailer #1 for Team Hewitt!! Looking forward to a Great Trip with Awesome people :toothy10:
Sorry guys my brother and I will not be joining you all but my job ends July 15 and and so decided to come later in month. Looking forward to whatever you can tell me about where the fish are and best fishing techniques.
If you guys are tired of putting you boats in every day and pulling them out you might want to rent a slip at the marina. I'm going to do this this year. $22 a day but expect to get fishing earlier and coming in later. Hopefully the fish will be closer to home this time.
Good luck to you all and have a safe trip.
