Title: Alamo 16Feb2015
Post by: D.Hewitt on February 16, 2015, 08:54 PM
Got up there and on the water at 9:30 and went straight to the buoy line near the north shore by the trees. There were about 10 boats in the area, but the store was out of minnows so most of the others had no live bait......but we did!  We were out on the lake for 5 hrs. and ended up with 7 Crappie at about 1-1.5 lbs. each. I'm happy with that for the newbie that I am at "Crappie hunting".
We were using brown/salt-pepper tail jigs tipped with a minnow. There was a guy up at the camp store stating that he had caught 15 this morning, maybe I could have done better if we would have started earlier  ::)
