For those of us that are land locked while our buddies are fishing Powell I just thought I would share what little information I have gotten from Marvin & Stevert. As of last night the two of them had a total of 49 walleye. Marvin being the seasoned veteran (2nd trip) and Stevert being this years rookie I think that is darn good but a damn shame I am not there to enjoy the catching. Saturday (short day due to arrival and bad wind) they boated 8 Sunday's total was 19 and yesterday's was 22 Not sure of the size or if all were keepers, would assume most were the 16" to 19" clones we caught last year. Also no information on the smallmouth. If you are reading this then it sucks to be me and you as I am sure the crew @ Powell has no internet.
Thanks for sharing the info, been here in the dry valley salivating just waiting to hear how they were doing. And yes it sucks to be here while they are there. More power to em. :banghead:
that be some good eating right there, looks like the wind hits for several days starting Thursday hopefully they stay safe, thanks for the report.
Here's a Walleye only count that were brought back. Doesn't include the many "undersized" Walleye, which we all have our own standards, that were caught and thrown back. List also doesn't include any other species of fish which everyone has caught their share of.

Nice job Patti and Tommy, and I hope you rub it in good. Looks like everyone had a very successful trip, makes us all very jealous. Enjoy the rest of your time and have a safe trip home.
That's a lot of Walleye! What was the hot bait?
Many used nightcrawlers on walleye harnesses with heavier weights. A few others used hefty jig heads with 3-4" grubs and caught walleye. It's been a great time - and learned a few things for next year....
Sounds like great trip, heck Thursday here in Hell we had all sorts of wind, hopefully your drive home will be good, some weather including snow up around Flagstaff etc.
amazing a fish never stocked in Powell has gone absolutely crazy in that lake :o
Sounds like I missed an awesome trip. Congratulations on the catching. I'm sure there are stories to tell of the other fish caught, what was used, how deep , how deep the water was, and speed and the time of day of the best bite. Again congrats. Freshwater
Hope everyone made it home safely. It was a great week with great folks, great eats, and great fishing.
Everyone caught fish and quite a few of them.
Hard to believe there were 440 keepers!
This arrangement works well with each team preparing dinner one night. Sure takes a load off when you only have to do breakfast and lunch all but one day.
I think that I gained about 10 pounds this week.
To top it all off, we stopped off on the way home for the crawfish boil at Roadrunner Bar in New River. Mac and Bobby did a great job on the mudbugs and I'm still stuffed.
Great seeing you and hard to believe that we had about 75lbs leftover from the boil.

Winner winner walleye dinner!
If memory serves me correctly, Patti's eye was the biggest we have caught since I have been going :headbang:
I still love the discreet way you guys held out until the last minute.

It was a safety consideration. We didn't want anybody going back out in that bad weather trying to catch one more :)
