Title: 2018 Lake Powell Lodging
Post by: sparkchaser on September 03, 2017, 05:35 AM
Hello everyone. Hope all of you are well. Reservations are being accepted for next year on Lake Powell's website. I modeled the same weekend we go up staying at Halls Crossing. Same price that we saw last year with the same deposit required. I have not called yet to see if in fact the trailers are available. I can do that later today, or tomorrow. Just wanted to get the ball rolling.

For those interested. I called the Aramark number to try and see if the trailers were actually available at Halls Crossing. The guy on the other end of the phone had no idea. All he could tell me is that they are available to reserve. I've since then reached out to Brian English who worked with us earlier this year. I'm still waiting on a response from him. Hope to have an answer by the end of the week.

Hi guys. I'm up for anything, and while having the Ice Machines at Bull Frog was nice, I liked the solitude, open space and better group setting opportunity at Halls.  Again, I'm open to either.

I'd like to save the hour drive and do Halls - where it all began.  Let's do it!  Halfway through my bags of walleye already.

Halls definitely gets my vote. Main reason being the parking situation and fish cleaning station over at Bullfrog.

I guess Brian is no longer at Lake Powell. He forwarded my email to the current operations manager. Here is the email I got from him:

Good Morning Dave,

As you may already know, Brian English has departed Lake Powell. I am the new operations manager at our North Lake locations. Brian forwarded on your email about your questions regarding your trip next year. Currently at Hall's Crossing we have 9 family units available to the public. These are brand new trailers with brand new furniture, appliances, and amenities. These units have been up and running since July and will be available to rent next year.

Are there any other questions you need answered?

Thank you,

Siobhan Lyons | Aramark | Operations Manager | Lake Powell Resorts & Marinas

So there you have it, 9 trailers available. I also asked for any discounts, and he said 20% off for any active or retired military.

So I called to see what was actually required for proof of military service. They, Aramark, said a DD214, or an active military ID. I do in fact have my DD214. Does anyone else have one?  If not, I'm willing to book the trailers under my name so we can all save some money. It's a 20% discount. I know it's a long ways out, but I love this trip, and for sure will be going back.

I used mine when I signed up for VA benefits, have VA Id but have not a clue where the DD214 is.
How close are you to choosing dates?

Went back a re-read requirements. I served but did not retire from military.
Looks like I would not be eligible for any discount.

So, some of us that attend this trip yearly were at the BHCC and discussed plans for next year. We are trying to compile a list of who will for sure go, so we can start planning on trailer reservations. The dates we are targeting are April 28th through May 5th. We should have a better number by the end of the week, so we can start going forward.

I'd like to go again for half week Tue-Sat.

I went ahead and reserved two trailers for the week of April 28th through May 5th.

Here is the confirmed list, as of now:

Sparkchaser
Fishman
CousinLLL
FishHawk
Mike and Debbie
Steve Dosset
Scott Wisniewski

I spoke to Rich Wheat (WheatThin) and he said he was going to get a trailer for the same week as well. Sounded like he was going to have a full trailer with Kyle (Holzie), and other friends.

Checked with partner and he wants to go the middle of May.
So I am out.

Timbo says he wants to go, expect him to be Tue-Sat like last year.  I'm in as well.

I have a friend (Geoff) from my old job sounds interested.  I can get him to commit if needed but unsure where we are with room in trailers.  I can do front room cot like last year.  I'd rather go cheap than get another trailer if possible.  However if we have enough for Tue-Sat, we can get another trailer.  I don't mind reserving now either assuming full refund if I cancel before 30 or less days.

Alan is interested in Tuesday through Sunday as well, he drove up alone last year. That might work for partial week trailer and gas savings.  I'll give him your # and u guys can see if it would work out. He's ex military as well for the savings, but I guess Timbo is also.

Not sure yet about the trip, the wife says she has a "secret" trip planned for sometime around then.  I'll try to get it out of her exact dates and then I'll be able to make a decision.  If I do go I can cot it like others and would need a seat in a boat if there is one available.........Larry.  If need be I could bring my military credentials with me.

Alan is planning on reserving another trailer using his military discount.  Tommy/Dave, can one of you message him link/instructions on how you reserved?  I went to website and didn't enter military discount but price was $169.56/night and that sounded like rate Dave got.  Would like to get this trailer reserved.  IAMMAC - I, Timbo, Alan, and maybe 1 other person are driving up Tue returning Sat.  If you're not going the entire week you are welcome to join for partial week.   I'm hoping we drive up 2 vehicles..... just in case  :crybaby2:

When I made my reservation, they said military discount was not available for those dates. I didn't argue. Sent the operational manager an email regarding this. Have not heard back from him. Hopefully when we get there and check in at the store, they will honor the discount. Or, Darkanna will still be working there, and we will get her discount. I made my reservation by phone, not online.

Alan confirmed the Matt/Timbo/Alan Trailer is reserved for the partial week. He did not indicate status to the Military discount.

Alan refuses to our web page so I'm the forced conduit to him. He said Timbo and Matty better be training for some major Jiggy Jiggy Jiggy action.  He also said bring your $5 bills because he's crushing it in poker this year.

Hi all!  We are back in Arizona (so nice and warm) and looking forward to getting some more great fishing trips in with the club.  We are  in for Lake Powell 2018, but hope to share camp and fish stories before then.

So trailer 1 and 2 have been confirmed with Aramark. Total for each trailer was 1186.92. Split that 4 ways and it comes to 296.73 per person. Both reservations are on my card, so just bring a blank check with you. I'm still hoping that who ever checks us in at the store will give me a veteran discount. Hence the blank check.

So, I have been trying to work for a veteran discount on our stay. We have gotten it in the past. I've been in contact with an Alexander, and Audrey at the store we check in at. One of them will be there for all of our check ins. I was referred by them to call Aramark for the discount. Aramark referred me back to them, saying they (the store, or place of check in) were in charge of discounts. I then called back and spoke to Alexander, and he said if Aramark referred it back to him, he would honor it. I don't know what to expect, but only hope for the best. I'll bring a copy of my DD214, and my veteran drivers license as proof, and hope for the best.

Matt...The store is open until 5. They said if you are coming later than that call them to arrange for a key pick up
