Title: Lets Talk Fishin' 4/18
Post by: Art Chamberlin on April 11, 2020, 08:54 AM
The Let's Talk Fishin' tournament is still on for next Saturday out of the Bobcat launch. In accord with Forest Service mandates the sign in will be one at a time in the parking lot (no stage) and there will be a drive through weigh-in, one at a time, giving your fish to the weighmaster from your boat. He will give a weigh slip and you go home. Results will be posted on the website and checks will be mailed  out. Hope to see you there. ......Art

As Art mentioned and confirmed through LTF Facebook page, Saturday, April 18th is the next Let's Talk Fishin' crappie tournament series at Roosevelt Lake with COVID-19 Guidelines available upon request.  The lake is now 98% full should be lots of new areas to find those elusive crappie.

This is not an Arizona Crappie Association sponsored event, but is being shared by the Arizona Crappie Association as it may be of interested to club members and visitors of this site.

Reminder this tournament is this Saturday at Roosevelt Lake - probably the best lake to go to now regarding boat traffic all other ones close by may be crazy busy.

In spite of having to weigh in two hours early because of the wind and dead trolling motor batteries Kasey and I caught 19 nice crappie and 1 bass long line trolling in the Salt end. We weighed our seven for 9.92 lbs. and our big fish was 1.73. I think we finished second by ounces as the results are not yet posted. We trolled jigs in 35 to 45 feet of water using no minnows. Sorry none of you could make it! ......Art

Wow nice job Art.  I'm amazed of you all who can catch crappie without minnows - that takes some skill!

We only had three boats in the crappie division! I was tickled to death to learn this morning the team that won was a new father and son team from Show Low. The son was ten years old and they said when he was told he beat Kasey and I you couldn't beat the ear to ear grin off his face with a shovel! That's what it's all about and he's hooked for life. ......Art
