I'll add my two cents a bit later......
For your bottom bouncing rod - any fast action medium to heavy bass rod with baitcaster spooled with heavy braid. I use a heavy fast action casting rod with my baitcaster spooled with 50 lbs power pro braid then a snap swivel.
Then a normal jig rod (your preference baitcaster or spinning) for tossing heavier jigs. I use a medium fast action baitcaster spooled with 17 lbs floro
So lets spend Mac's money......what kind of tackle & rod/rod setups does he need?
Don't mess around here. Go big and heavy. 30lb braid minimum. I tie my own rigs and use 20lb fluoro. 2-3oz bottom bouncers.
I use a fast action jig rod with 10lb braid.
The rocks up there are lick razor blades.
Medium heavy rod with 65 pound braid main line for my bottom bouncers. I use a Fenwick extendable to 8 foot. I havent lost a bottom bouncer in 2 years. Spooled to a bait caster of your choice. I use 2 or 3 ounce bouncers found on the internet. I troll with crawler harnesses that I buy on ebay. Best colors are gold, silver, and chartruse as the water is usually clear.
Jig rod is a medium, fast tip 6.5' Fenwick spinning rod. I tie 10 pound suffix 832 braid straight to the jig. I use 1/4 oz jigs down to 1/8. Last year I did really good with ned rigs in green pumpkin. I also do good with football jigs and hula grubs, and minnow jigs with power grubs
Alright.....I've got plenty of poles!
I have flouro (15#)
#2 & #4 Octopus Hooks
Bottom Bouncers 1, 2, 3 & 4 oz. 12 of each
100pk Clevis
My question is what size blades are needed for the crawler harnesses? I also need beads, not sure if Joanne's, Hobby Lobby or Michael's is open so I may have to order online.
What about Jig sizes and plastics?
I use rigs like these....I roll them onto pool noodles before the trip.

I would go with the smaller blades since you'll want them spinning even at the slowest speeds.
I tried a 10 foot salmon rod for awhile but prefer shorter and lighter 7 foot rods because Powell is like a marathon and you're pulling those bottom bouncers for 10+ hours a day for 7 days straight.
Your forearm will look like Popeye's if you don't bring a righty and a lefty and switch it up occasionally.
You'll even notice a difference between using 20 or 30lb braid over a long day because of the drag.
Ditch the 1 & 2 oz bottom bounce weights, stick with 3, 4, or 5's, heavier if you're in the front of the boat so you don't have so much line out behind you when you make turns.
