Title: 4/22/2022 Bartlett
Post by: FishMan on April 22, 2022, 10:28 AM
Fished Bartlett today out of Sparkchasers Boat. On the water at safe light, Yellow Cliffs area mostly 15-25 FOW with 17 very nice crappie all caught off the front of the boat (Sparkchaser and IAMMAC) all on Dropshot bare hook minows.  Fish Man out the back of the boat with about 60 bluegill and a few bass all on flies (greenie Weenie and gold bead hairs ear). 9 dozen minows gone by 8:30am. Trolled cranks for an hour, 1 crappie. Off water by 9:30.

Thanks so much for the report... Heading to Roosevelt next week so this is great news.

Were they still pre-spawn...females full of eggs and males full of ....piss and vinegar? :)

I'll be posting a Rosey update Sunday night or Monday morning.

I'd say most if not all were post spawn.

Thank you - I see Rosey water temp is 73 so most likely post spawn pattern as well.

They can still be spawning, I have seen them in clear water at Alamo down 6-8' with males on beds as the water a few feet down is cooler than surface temps just like lg mouth will do. Mid lake at Rosy should be cooler than either the tonto or Salt end that is shallow :dontknow:
