The Arizona Crappie Association's Spring Crappie Fest 2025 at Alamo Lake is in the books. Along with the tournament (congrats AZ Crappie Sniper team of Randy and Brock), we had everyone camping at the large group site starting Wednesday through Sunday. We had some higher winds pickup each day but managed to catch crappie through it all. On Saturday after the weighin we held our AZCA meeting and would like welcome our new member Ben Nesiu and his 2 kids as youth members to the club. After the meeting, we held our raffle giving out $900 worth of prizes. Thank you so much to everyone who bought tickets!
Special thanks to the following businesses and individuals who helped out in general to make this event and all Arizona Crappie Association events happen:
- Randy Howton (AZ Crappie Sniper Guide Service) - cleaned fish, purchased Canyon Cooler and BnM Rods for raffle, and provides monthly fishing reports for the newsletter
- Dave Thompson & Larry Larson - crappie fish fry, great firepit every night, and help make many AZCA events happen
- Tommy Rufrano - held the raffle and also AZCA treasurer (best ever!)
- Liars Korner Bait and Tackle - donated an ACC Crappie Stix rod and a Shimano reel and always have minnows in stock
- Kevin Morgan - AZCA membership director
- Cameron Gilliam - cleaned fish and provided hand-tied jig raffle prizes
- James Rollins - donated gift card for raffle
- Robert Geist - donated gift certificate for raffle
- Brian Bernard (Mudshark Marine) - donated raffle prizes
- Matthew Picklesimer (AZ Lead Works) - provided jig/weights raffle prizes
- AZCA members (too many to name) who provided food/supplies for the potluck
2nd and 3rd place, plus other pictures.
