Crappie Fishing Report
The following report was provided by AZ Crappie Sniper Guide Service. If you're interested in a guided trip for crappie contact Randy Howton at 623-640-9193 and randyhowton@yahoo.com.  Randy's guide service was just mentioned in Crappie NOW, the biggest online crappie magazine publication in the US.

Alamo Lake
Crappie are being caught in shallow 2-10ft of water, mostly males up spawning. And there are lots of post-spawn females out in schools all over the lake and in all different depths.

Bartlett Lake
Crappie are holding as suspended schools over structure as shallow as 5ft all the way to 30ft of water. You can sometimes find the bigger crappie at shallower depths.

Lake Pleasant
No new info for April. From mid-March - the white crappie were already starting to spawn in bushes 5-10ft of water. The black crappie were still suspended in 20-30ft of water but should be moving in within the next few weeks.

Roosevelt Lake
The crappie are heavily spawning in 2-5ft of water on Salt River side, and they are just starting to spawn on the Tonto end.

San Carlos
Crappie fishing is on fire and you can catch crappie by fishing no more than 10ft from shore using a bobber with a jig and small 1 1/2" curly tail. Another report indicated catching smaller sizes in 10-11" with the fishing improving in the late afternoon. If you do go fishing there, be sure and purchase your permit through the San Carlos Recreation and Wildlife Department.  We haven't had any reports yet of white crappie being caught, only black crappie and blacknose crappie.  If you catch a white crappie from the lake, please email azcrappieassociation@gmail.com.

Other/Urban Lakes
Do you fish the urban lakes or other Arizona lakes for crappie? If so, please email azcrappieassociation@gmail.com so we can include your report here.
