Title: Bob Hirsch Crappie Classic Camping
Post by: OneBlade on July 16, 2025, 06:54 AM
As mentioned, TNF canceled our group site reservations at Grapevine for BHCC Oct 18th so we need an alternative.  There are campsites at the marina but more expensive.  The only other group site I'm aware of is Fraizier Horse campground, but they also are not taking reservations until Nov 1.  Everything appears to be first-come first-serve availability.  I'm suggesting we go with Windy Hill individual sites since that'll be near where our weighin will be (Bobcat ramp).  My suggestion would be Coyote loop at the bottom of Windy Hill near the ramps as they have bathrooms there as well.  Close by is Javalina loop but it may be closed until fall, not sure.  Alternatively, we could take over Coati which is the campground higher up on the hill to the right after you pass the entry station.  See map.  Reply with your ideas and what you think please.

Update!! For Bob Hirsch Crappie Classic (BHCC) on Oct 18, we'll be camping at Windy Hill Coyote loop.  As of today, none of the Windy Hill sites are reservable (https://www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/249308) for any date prior to Nov 1 so it'll be first come first serve basis for camping. AZCA members will still need to secure and pay for their campsite for however long they are there, but will get reimbursed for at least 1 night by the Treasurer at the event.
