Title: Bartlett crappies 6/09
Post by: gonfishin on June 09, 2011, 04:59 PM
Went solo today with 3 doz minnows - planned to fill out the bait bucket with shad. Lesson #1 - If you rely on catching shad, there wont be any. Could only manage 10 or so shad - ran out of bait at 8:30. Spent the rest of the morning trolling roadrunners tipped with Kalin jigs (AC, BBC, JD). Caught 15 keepers, 10 throw backs. Beautiful calm day on the lake (got a little hot later in the morning) Water clarity is improving now that the lake has stabilized. You can see the ramp 10 feet out into the water.
