Title: Be careful
Post by: Piscolli on October 23, 2011, 08:33 AM
Any guy got stuck yesterday trying to launch. From what I've heard towing bills out there can range from $500 to over $1000.

Lauching is fairly easy if you go to the flats east of Soda Canyon but DO NOT try to drive to the end of the ramp. Take the dirt road about half way down the ramp, this will take you out onto the point then to the east. Last Tuesday I had to use 4X4 for the first time in 3 trips.

Even out there you need to pay attention. Few weeks back I saw TWO different vehicles get stuck in almost the exact same spot near the water. We helped the second guy for about 2 hours but couldn't get him out. We had 4x4 and so did he. Just couldn't make it happen.

Had no problems launching yesterday, but did damage my prop when idling up to the bank by the dirt ramp and hit rocks which couldn't be seen.
