Title: Crappie depth with drastic temp drop
Post by: PhishingPhreek on December 07, 2011, 08:54 PM
Hey guys! If I were to fish Bartlett how deep do you think I should be? I know in the winter the crappie go a little deeper and cruise open waters, but we're in Arizona and we don't usually have a winter (except for this week for some reason. lol) Have the crappie dropped down to deeper temps, say 25-30 or so or would we be able to find them at 20?

have been finding them deeper already before this last real cold front so yes 25-30' as far as cruising open water (don't know about that) they like structure like rock piles and trees and artificial habit etc.

We picked a few up last weekend in 18 to 22 ft of water around trees 12 to 16 ft deep.
