Lake Powell Near Page - Where To Fish

I'm headed up to Lake Powell Thur-Sun near Antelope Canyon. Going to be a zoo up there and really questioning if I even drag my boat up there.  Camping with kids so any trips on the lake will be short lived and could be frustrating with lots of boaters.  Anyway, if I do take my boat, any suggestions besides 'find the rock pile" on where to fish up there near Page area and any info about boat ramp situation?

Not too familiar with the south end but everything you need to know is here: http://www.wayneswords.com  But I'd fish the same way, rocky areas & back in canyons & coves.  Assuming you're casting this trip so green pumpkin &/or crawdad colored anything such as bigger grubs on 1/4 oz jig heads for example.  Yamamoto hula grubs or double tailed grubs, senkos rigged wacky - use anchovies with the jig heads for stripers

Bring the boat, Powell is to big to b crowed, u can always find places where no one is around. Same kind of fishing in the spring, walleyes will be scattered but smallies & stripers will be active. Rocky ledges off main points will hold smallies & occasional LM.

--- in the past years ( when the lake was a decent level)---I trolled for strippers very successfully around the marina ---the strippers tend to hang there ---trolled with 6-8 inch rainbow trout colored lures and any  large "shad "colored lures---Lures a little pricy but well worth the effort --IF you want the kids to catch killer strippers--

you might think about launching at antelope marina saves you some miles and big waves from tour boats leaving out of walweap, they even have valet launching for like $25 where they launch you and secure your vehicle then come pick you back up out of their private launch ramp, navajo canyon is just around the corner, they are catching crappie in the back of the cove in stained water (long boat ride) and tons of stripers out front at the power plant intakes and areas in the area, other species are being caught in the canyon, once inside the canyon it will be more sane as far as boat traffic and waves etc. kids could have fun catching stripers on anchovies

Thanks guys - seems like most advice is bass or striper fishing.  We're actually camping at Wahweap.  Still up in the air on boat but might take it just to carry the 4 bikes and firewood!

lone rock not far from walweap can hold crappie and guys fish off shore all along the beach area toward the house boat area and there is a fishing station at the marina with night lights etc.
