Where can I find the rules? What about the live-well? Can I get a little help?

I see there is a live-well check. What does that mean? What are the rules on live-wells? :sign0144:

Just to make sure no one is hiding pre-caught 3 pounders!

It means that you shouldn't have any crappie in your live well before the derby starts. We wouldn't want you to have an unfair advantage, now would we? lol

Ok, got it. Now, my boat doesnt have a live-well, so is there a standard for that? I see some at BassPro Shop that I can buy, just trying to follow the rules ot standards. :dontknow:

When I go crappie fishing I usually don't even bother with my live well. I typically bring them in, decided if they're a keeper or not (over 12" equals keeper for me), and then throw them into a cooler full of ice. You could go with this method, but there's rumor that they lose weight when you do that so a live well is preferred during derbies.

You can bring the fish up however you want, you just can't can't have any in your boat before you go out for the morning.

No problem on not having a livewell. I know serious guys who use coolers with an aerator, or you could use a wire mesh fish basket, or even an old fashion stringer will work. Whatever it takes to keep the fish fresh!

I do have a wire mesh fish basket you could use if you need something??
