Matt we are heading up the 4th through the 7th of June. Campin on the lake,  traditionally we have camped accross from last chance bay

One Last Cast

Here is a final run down of our trip this week. The fishing began strong with 7 Walleye in 2 hours the afternoon we arrived last week. The only good day we had until Tuesday of this week. We were plagued by thunderstorms, wind and rain showers the rest of the week. We did get 10 walleye the day after our arrival between storms. All were caught north of bullfrog on shoals on the marina side of the bay and the shoal directly north of the launch ramp. From that point on they came in 3's and 4 per day. Final count was 29 fish. We did hit about 30 of the largest bluegill I have ever caught on the shoal in front of Warm creek. We had two days with clear weather in the morning that allowed us to get up lake. We caught no walleye off of any of the rock slides during the entire trip. They all seemed to be on underwater shoals except the day we made it to Knowles canyon. Those were caught off of walls in the back of the canyon.
Hammered brass, and the holographic perch and shad #4 spinners with slow death hooks were the best producers for us. Once again, my lindy approach (only tried one day) failed to produce.

We did have a good time however and a good trip without incident. Looking forward to joining you all next year.

Not sure the last week in May might be a better bet as water temps were below the magic 64 degrees due to weather most of the time. When it hit 65 degrees we had the best walleye bite  which is what Jeremy advised me is the right temperature. 64-68 degrees.

Thanks Dick for the report.  3-4 a day is tough but 29 for the trip is not bad.  Glad you got out there.  I'm still considering a way to get me and the boys up there.....

Well the merc dealer called at 1;00 and the merc Mtr on pontoon was fixed. $607.00 $388 Parts and 190 Labor + shop parts and taxes.  A new fuel pump, a float,& a hose???  I asked for the taken out parts as some times they can be fixed and some times you can see what caused it or how to remedy it.  Like could the dang rough roads jared something or snapped it  or caused it to spring a leek, but he said the mechanics had all gone home for memorial day and he couldn't find it.  Only 60 hours on Mtr. Anyway I'm good to go.  Onward !!! :3some:  Have a fabulous Memorial Day and remember our active and Vets.
