Was out this morning and met oneblade on the ramp... However that did not improve my luck at all... Water was about 55 degrees and I didn't get a bite, disappointed but not surprised as I am new to crappie fishing, and don't really know how to approach it... Not a scientific study, but I didn't see anyone catching fish...

Water has come up a bunch due to big releases from horseshoe, was the water muddy?

Duh...  Yes, I'm certain it was and will be now for several weeks.

Hey Unit9Elk, good to meet you. I think a lot of folks ended up in Alder Cove and nearby coves to find cleaner water. We caught 12 mostly off our front lines vertical trolling, although my dad caught a couple early with jig and minnow.  Was surprised to have any luck with inflow changes in the lake.  We measured 60 degrees - maybe warmer water helped out.
