From Abel at Tonto National Forest:
> It is no secret that the water level at Bartlett Lake has been steadily dropping during this summer. SRP intends to release more water this month and their own words, "Bartlett Lake will continue to decline up to 1.5' per week and will drop another 5-6' down to 1747' elevation or slightly below over the next month (by week of August 11th) for SRP to complete inspections at Bartlett Dam the week of August 18th.  It may drop another few feet in mid-August before we plan to move additional water downstream to Bartlett from Horseshoe in late August (~Aug 21-28)." I do not have an exact time frame from SRP or the release date of Horseshoe to refill Bartlett Lake. What I do know is that Jojoba launch site most likely won't be back open till first week in September.

Then, from Grant LaBarge at Bartlett Lake Life:
> Hello everyone one! I'm the forest ranger for CCRD/Bartlett Lake. Yes we will be closing Jojoba boat dock along with the parking lot. But it will not be closed until Monday morning! You can launch off the shore line at the Flats or SB but since they are not a designated boat launch it is at your own risk. Any questions please contact our Ranger Station and you should see the official post go out on social media here soon.

Never done that before, is that even possible with a bass boat or is it too sketchy?

I've done it a bunch at SB cove and it works pretty good.  4X4 is a must.  Not sure about Bartlett Flats area.

Ah, that's what I was thinking. My rig is a 2x4 Ram 1500 and I think it would end up stuck.

Besides, I have to power load to get on the trailer correctly and that could potentially washout a good chunk of shoreline.

A few pictures of the dam.

Horseshoe Dam gates now open!  👍 We calculate that Bartlett should rise approx 8ft over next week.

Fishless

Due to low streamflow across the Salt and Verde watersheds this year, Bartlett Lake level has remained between 55% to 40% of capacity throughout 2025 and as of mid-August 2025 is currently at elevation 1747' (40%). SRP plans to release water from Horseshoe Dam through the spillway along the Verde River into Bartlett Lake beginning approximately at 3:00 pm Thursday, August 21 through Thursday, August 28 at the rate of approximately 1,800 cubic feet per second to move additional water downstream. Bartlett Lake will rise approximately 7 feet and Horseshoe Lake will drop about 7 feet over this period. Note that following the completion of this Horseshoe spillway release, Bartlett Lake levels are expected to gradually decline (about 1 foot per week) and could return to current levels (1747', 40%) or lower later this fall depending on weather conditions and inflows along the Verde River into Horseshoe Lake. Please plan accordingly for lake level changes.
