Crappie fishing across the desert lakes is on fire right now! If you're not out fishing, you're missing out on some great action.

Alamo Lake

Large schools of crappie are roaming throughout the lake. Fish are typically holding around structure, but their locations change from day to day, so keep moving and searching. Jigs are generally the preferred method at Alamo Lake.

Bartlett Lake

Lots of crappie are being caught recently! Look for schools in 17 to 25 feet of water. Move around and you'll find schools holding hundreds of fish, although many are on the smaller side. There are some bigger crappie mixed in. Minnows are working best at Bartlett.

Lake Pleasant

Crappie fishing at Lake Pleasant is doing well. Check the creek arms and coves along the north side of the lake. The Agua Fria area is open until December 15, but water levels are low, so use caution when heading back there. Trees are becoming exposed just before the no-wake zone, so navigate carefully. Both minnows and jigs are producing fish so just keep searching to find the big schools of fish.

Roosevelt Lake

There is good action around the AZGFD fish habitat structures near Windy Hill. Keep moving and look for isolated cover to find the bigger crappie. Both minnows and jigs are working, although jigs may produce some larger fish.
