LLL,
Since Desert Rat and Campin Nana are out, we picked up Dick's brother in our party and will probly use his Searay and fish 3. As for the trailer... we got room for one more body to share the rent. Hope to make it to Rosey this weekend to hang wit da group.

OK, So it sounds like we're back to the 3 trailers......  :lol_hitting:

Sorry, I'll clarify...  I know that the 89 is shutdown ahead of our turn for halls.  I just meant the rerouted traffic and detour traffic affecting our travels.  Also, seems most have done this trip but for those who have not, here is a safety tip.  Please make sure you make sure your bearings are ready to go on your axle.  Also this road has ate up my trailer tires a few times so if you are due to change don't risk it.  The road isn't forgiving and very little areas to pull off to change a tire.

OUTSTANDING WORDS of WISDOM!  Thanks for bringing that up.  I carry 2 spare tires along with a complete hub/spindle assembly for my trailer, maybe overkill a bit but......  Certainly not trying to make people nervous but please take some time to go over your equipment.  Another thought is to travel in groups or at least keep in touch periodically so somebody has some idea of where others are at.  But all in all, it's a really scenic road trip so enjoy the ride!

How many miles are we on bad road?  I've taken the Apache Trail six mile stretch dozen times or more and assume it isn't worse then that right?

Mat, look up the Moki Dugway...  This stretch of road is on our route, about an hour out of Halls Crossing...  It is just beautiful...  It's not that the roads are that bad, it's because it is so desolate a lot of the way through S. Utah...
Always carry a flagon of whiskey in case of
snakebite...  Furthermore always carry a small
snake.

With the exception of The Moki Dugway, all our route is over either US or state highways.  Like Chris mentioned, they're not that bad - just advising those unfamiluar to make sure you look over your equipment as recommended by Wheatthin.  We are not trying to make you nervious about making this trip.  But at the same time, we want to be sure everybody has good information & is prepaired for the just in case.

And for Freshwater & TRITOON, I would advise you also google The Moki Dugway.  With the rigs you guys have I would suggest you not take this short cut.  We can talk more about this later.....

oops thats where me and cuz part ways. the mogi dugi was no problem. good level gravel road bed. grade is not that bad and the distance is also not that long. the tougher grade by far is those two coming up to flag. indeed the grade out of superior and the rosey hill headed to globe are both tougher grades than mogi duki for my rig. duki duki is nice and wide. the only issue with dogey duki is lookin down it has a nice drop off when u get toward the top. if uve done fish creek hill before this is cake. take the short cut unless u want to do the drive and hit a dive hotel in blanding then drive into the lake in the morn. bout 1.5 hours from blanding.

Understood.  I think main issue is not just road style but the fact that you're 8 hours from home in the middle of nowhere and I'm not sure if the AZCA 911 list is accessible out there.  :icon_scratch:  When we get closer, perhaps we can somewhat caravan there.  I realize this can be a hassle if someone wants to stop and stuff so maybe not the whole group but would be smart to at least have 2 vehicles in each group in case one has issues there is another car to transport to next city, cell coverage, etc.  My issue would be losing cell coverage on one of these roads I'm up a creek without a paddle.

Tom, we need to determine if we are both taking boats, truck, etc. up there or what.  I'm a little nervous taking my rig up there - less the boat and more the suburban.  Would like to hear FishHawk's fishing plans and any others currently not assigned a boat and see if we can consolidate.  My goal this trip will be catching a 4+lb walleye beating my Lake Mary catch last year.  By the way, when is this trip in terms of spawn time for walleye?
