on the rocks

Marvin & I launched about 6:45 am caught 2 fish per hour until 11:00 am when the wind started to pick up and the bite died for us. By noon the wind was picking up and so did we. Off the lake and fished cleaned before 1:00 pm. We slow trolled double rigs. Black jig heads no grub and tipped with a minnow caught all but 1 fish. Did not stick around for the meeting but saw Dave, Tommy, Matt and Larry on the lake. Seemed like their numbers were similar. Always hopping for a better day but I think the front moving in this week had something to do with it. Unlike last time 5 of the fish were males with 3 females. Males did not turn black in the live well. My guess is the lake is still 2-3 weeks away from producing any significant numbers.

You guys did pretty well may have won the tournament with those numbers.  Glad the wind stayed down at least until noon I was thinking 10am it would be blowing hard.
