will latex paint waterproof wood? I'm fininshing my deck on my boat and I need to water proof the wood and I have a 5 gallon bucket of 100% latex paint laying around and was wondering if it would work?

For a little while. Not much. Fiberglass is the only way that I know for a durable finish.

I used to use marine varnish.

I desided to use roofing sealer.
