I have been wanting to go fish the smallies and crappie at Lake Navajo for years.  No longer have a boat but curious if anyone else has interest on fishing that lake? It is 90 miles north of Farmington NM. ABout at 10 hour drive for me is my guess. 2 days lost on driving but maybe 3 days fishing wouldn't be that bad. I believe the have great walley as well. Below lake on San Juan is a great fishery for trout but who cares.   elevation is nice to beat the heat. Maybe Carl knows a little more about it?

Not so many Walleye, but great lake for Crappie and Northern Pike...

Haven't fished it in years, though...Below the dam, on the San Juan river, gold metal trout fishing...
Always carry a flagon of whiskey in case of
snakebite...  Furthermore always carry a small
snake.

Hey bobby, navajo is a good lake, I only fish it a couple times a year. I think the fishing should turn on real soon . large mouth / small mouth , pike are your best bet .the crappie are plentiful but a lot smaller than Arizona crappie . I think a Powell trip would be a lot better !!!

I fished powell with boy's last year. what a blast. Doesn't take much to catch fish there. I was just wanting to see some new country.  Tweeder and Wheatthin were great guides. Colter and I put it on them as far as fishing goes. Anyhow, Powell would be cool.
