looks like he had a piece of chicken or something on the hook surprised that one crappie finally fell for it? have seen crappie in clear water do the same thing to a minnow or a grub sometimes they just don't want to eat

Looks like he may have been using a wax worm or something along those lines.

you would be surprised Matt, have seen that a lot they just come out and grab a bait (thats where I always seem to pull it away from them as they are grabbing it), don't streak out like a striper etc. occasionally they will bolt out and hit a lure
