Don't forget, if you are an Arizona resident and have a valid Az fishing license, you will also need a Utah (Lake Powell) reciprocal license. If you are an out of stater you will need a Utah non-resident license. They sometimes sell them at the marina but their business hours are very sketchy and unreliable. These can be purchased online at wildlife.utah.gov

Good post Mike!  I always buy mine online just in case.  Think the reciprocal license is still $8

Thank you for this information I was going to ask at crappie fest but online and in pocket is much easier than dealing with this after arrival.

Last year I bought a NonRes Second Pole for $15 along with the $8 reciprocal permit lake powell.  I couldn't find the 2-pole permit and wonder if they got rid of it.  I did a little search and in 2015 they discontinued that:

Lake Powell
To fish across the state line at Lake Powell, any person with a valid Utah fishing license — either resident or nonresident — may fish any portion of Lake Powell, including the Arizona portion, without any additional permits or licenses.  A person with an Arizona license will still need to purchase and possess a valid Utah reciprocal permit to fish in the Utah waters of Lake Powell. Arizona residents may obtain a Utah reciprocal fishing permit at wildlife.utah.gov and from Division offices and license agents that sell Utah fishing licenses. As long as you are legally fishing the Utah portion of Lake Powell, you may use two fishing poles without any additional permits.

For all of you with smart phones there is an app that you can download that will store your license on your phone. Works swell, here is the link
