WHERE THE HELL DID THEY GO :wtf: two weeks ago the boys were just starting to move up on the salt end way up so I figured it would be good yesterday. knew I was in trouble when I went out by way of Globe since I wanted to launch schoolhouse, the drive was the fastest I have ever had :o Launched about 9:30am after getting nice minnows at MS marine ($2.40) per doz, great price. Fished all the areas I fished before SCF and could not find a crappie anywhere, went real shallow, mid depth, angle shoreline, heavy timber and brush moved my way out to deeper water throwing jigs and trying minnow (NOTHING) >:( even with the quick storm we had this weekend water temp was 67-68 up in the river and 65+ down lake, heck fished additional coves all the way up to eagle closure area on the salt and all I was catching was slot lg. mouths, even had a tree where some of the blackening crappie were hanging out in 10' of water (was my back up spot for SCF) in case the shallow fish were uncooperative and had caught and released fish there everytime. Had fish on it 2+ weeks in a row and fished it hard yesterday, nothing so figured they moved up NADA could not find them anywhere in the cove.

Then the wind started :o, found out that schoolhouse is not the place to launch/pickup solo when the wind is coming from the west at 30+mph (weather guys had said 5-10mph) :violent1: bigggggggggggggg waves, been a while since water has spashed over the front of the big deepvee boat I have coming down toward the launch, took me 4 tries to get to the dock on the backside to tie up real glad the rope held, first time in a long time had to time my step out of the boat on the the dock as the dock would be above the boat then below it as the waves crashed into it finally got loaded at 1:30pm (barely put trailer in water) boat loaded itself with the surf, didnt want to leave so early was going to go to the tonto end and launch at indian point but noticed the wind seemed to be fading a little bit soooooooooooooo went over to windy hill and launched there and proceeded to fish salome cove (had found a few crappie in there 3 weeks ago shallow) NADA water 67 degrees and not anything but lg. mouths fished shallow on out. Anyway to make a short story longer, fished all the coves east of salome mae to Alder and water temp was 65+ everywhere and could not find a crappie :( caught 15-20 slot and under lg. mouths) but 0 crappie, did see two small balls of fry swimming but could not tell what they were, about the time I think I have figured out these spring crappie they make me realize I am clueless :dontknow:

Sorry to hear you couldn't find them,... I think we caught all 50 left in the lake at SCF. :)

That lake is just a teaser - I am starting to really hate it

Nice report, sorry to hear it was more fishing and searching than catching. Rosie stumps me, I have better luck on Pleasant, which ain't saying much :)

IAMMAC

I hate ROSEY myself.  Can't seem to EVER catch Crappie there.  I'll stick to Alamo and SC!

was looking so promising, more like the old roosevelt, rosy starts that way with the spawn they move up at the ends of the lake then as the spring moves on the groups move up farther down lake as water warms, many years I finish the season around the islands, hoping maybe the cold front made them goofy? probably will try it one more time after this next full moon? can only hope. :o
