Hey guys, been a little quite around here lately!

I was wondering, what is everyone's favorite crappie lake fish here in Arizona and why?

I would love to say my favorite lake is Bartlett since it's so close and has a great history of crappie, my favorite lake is Roosevelt. I've had a lot more luck here than at any other lake. (including my 2nd place finish at our last SCF  ) I've also managed to pull my only 3lber from here. It's unfortunate that I have no clue where the pictures went of this one either.  :dontknow:

For me its Alamo.  Closer than Roosevelt for me, no lake lice, don't have to shell out additional $ for a permit and there are plenty of crappie.

For numbers I would have to say San Carlos, although it comes with the price of an extra permit. A couple of years ago was the best crappie fishing I have seen so far. We were pulling slabs out and limiting out in about 3 to 4 hours. If Rosey ever drops a little I think it will be insane there. I still will drive there and try it first before I go to San Carlos. I've only fished Bart and Alamo once and didn't have to much luck at either.

Steve, that's one of the other reason's I like Roosevelt. I live about 25 minutes from Pleasant but hate going to that lake because of the number of pleasure boaters and lake lice there. That's why I always opted to go to Bartlett, but after this last weekend Pleasant and Bartlett are starting to look very similar... doesn't help that Bartlett is sooooooooooo low.

The numbers at SC always seem to impress me. Even if the fishing is phenomenal I find it hard spending as much money as I have to in order to go there since I'm up in the NW Valley. For anyone in the east valley, it makes a lot more sense to fish there. Bartlett kicks my ass every time I go there. haha

For me it's Alamo hands down!

used to be bartlett then it has kind of faded (but after yesterday it may be on the rebound?) and pleasant was great before the new dam, then it was roosevelt but it has changed so much for the worse since the lake grew in size, so I think alamo would be my #1 (if I lived closer to Powell it would be considered)

San Carlos for me. I have had me best days & nights fishing there.
I'd only fish there but my wife hates it.
I like going to Rosey for the camping but have never catch a bunch of crappie there.

Well, Roosevelt treated me good in January timeframe but hasn't done me good lately.  I had a couple poor trips there in March.  I liked the 1 San Carlos trip I took in February.  It seems like a majority of the reports I see for San Carlos have people catching good amounts and good sized ones there too.  I'm surprised more people don't fish there at least lately that it seems to do better than Roosevelt and also was doing better than Bartlett or Pleasant.  The only reason I don't go to San Carlos is because I don't trust my minivan being able to dock there.  The permit issue is annoying and time consuming, that's a bummer but at least from the reports, that's where I'd be.  Alamo is a little too far for me but those west valley folks may be good for them.
